This game is great even if you aren’t an SW fan. The first LSW was a bit too kiddy for most adults and Traveler’s Tales listened and made it a tad more challenging for adults yet still accessible for kids. While the translation to the PSP is flawless and didn’t take any hits from the PS2 version the game still has ups and downs. The game tells all the great moments of the three original movies very well. There are no voices, and it’s so tricky to tell the story with just grunts and expressions.
I also have to mention the game is hilarious! This is another surprising factor, but the developers did it somehow. Everything is made of Legos (as says the same) and there is no gore so it IS kid friendly. Everything just looks so great. All the characters look cute and funny with big heads just like their real-life Lego counterparts. You collect “studs” throughout the game that is like currency to buy cheats, extra characters for free play mode, and items to customize your character for the co-op mode, which by the way, is pretty lame. You can change parts around, and it’s pretty lame but the kids may like it. The game has some obscure puzzles, though. Some will take you ages to figure out because of the whole Lego design and some things are just hard to spot.
The vehicle control is terrible and most won’t get the hang of it. At least the vehicle section is pretty fun and very fast paced. This game feels just like a great SW game but made with Legos…it’s impressive. Everyone should play this game (it’s on every console out there! So you have no excuse) because you’ll have tons of fun through the 8-10 hours it takes you to beat it.
