Movado is a popular character with players yet he has never returned. His long black trenchcoat and hook ropes are reminiscent of Kabal, but he just has a distinctive attitude and he could have a lot of potential in newer games.
A sexy vampiress who was unlike any other MK character. She’s a big favorite and one of the many who never returned from Deadly Alliance. Her unique vampire attacks and amazing bandana and wings just set her apart.
Some hated Drahmin, but I loved him. He looked sick and vile and like a great MK character, he fit the universe well. His club hand and flies were unique to his looks and I love his mask and rotting flesh.
A Kano rip-off with a baret and looked pretty much like M. Bison. He didn’t really have anything special going on for him, just the usual generic feel and copycat moves.
Really hated by the MK team, especially Ed Boon, and some fans flame Mokap to this day. He’s a funny addition, but he’s so out of place in the universe. He was an unlockable character in Deadly Alliance and will probably stay that way.
One of the many generic characters to grace Deception. Using graveyard jokes for moves and unless taunt moves, Havik was very much disliked. He has a boring backstory and just isn’t much fun to use.
My least favorite character in the whole MK universe. A little hodgepodge of other popular MK characters’ moves and a lame stereotype old Asian dude look. Pass.
Actually, he’s one of the few interesting newcomers in Deception and his whole Order Realm backstory is rather interesting. He had unique lava moves and weird kicks. His flag poles are what made him unique and his yellow and gold armor.
Another great addition to Deception. Her white robes and really interesting hat set her apart outside of her weak special moves. She was just an interesting character to look at and sadly she hasn’t been back.
Probably the worst character in Deception outside of Shujinko. Just stupidly basic with a lame story and a five-head. His moves are so uninteresting that I almost fall asleep using him.
He is a weird martial arts dude with unique Nunchuks and was rather fun to play as. His Gi made him stand out from other characters and I’m surprised he hasn’t been back.
I actually liked him a lot in Deception as his hook claws made for some great combos. He was a tough character to beat, but his back story wasn’t very interesting. He could make a big comeback if the team polished him up a little.
One of my favorites from Deception. Kira was a Black Dragon member or a female Kano. She had a few moves that copied his but she was so sexy and badass that she became a quick favorite, so where is she?!
Taven should have stayed as a Konquest the only character and should never have been a regular fighter. The scary thing is that it’s possible for him to come back because he’s an actual character.
An Armageddon exclusive character that was the opposite of Khameleon. He copies the male ninjas’ moves and was kind of interesting and should really return at least a bonus character.
It’s the same thing as Taven. Stupidly lame special moves and he just looked like a Disney pirate. I hope these two never come back.
One of the few new “large” characters to ever make it into an MK game. A new boss was a breath of fresh air and Onaga was formidable and quite likable in the community. A lot of people thought he would be the main boss in MKX, but it wasn’t to be.
He would clearly only appear in a PlayStation-only MK game, but his inclusion in MK9 was awesome and he fit in so well here. His combos were amazing and he should really come back in a later game.
Clearly a movie-based character, but he fits well into MK9 and I’m surprised he’s never made it back. He was popular among players and had some great moves.
Another generic character that Netherrealm forced. Feels like a Scorpion rip-off honestly. Using those chain whips is kind of cool, but I didn’t care at all for his boring character and personality.
Same as Takeda. Feels like Taven and Daegon Part 2. Two male leads who feel forced and no one really cares about. I hope these two don’t ever come back.
A fantastic character and the only new “large” character to date since Onaga. Using two characters at once is also a great welcome as I liked Noob-Smoke back in Deception, but these two have a great back story and are just really interesting to see on screen.
I’m pretty sure this is from the popular fan-made character who was a brown ninja palette swap. I remember seeing Tremor from back when Mortal Kombat 5: Nightmares was a really huge deal, and a big fake scam and people thought Sexualities were going to be in the game.
What can I say? He’s perfect for the series and is just super fast and amazing in the game. I hope he comes back as a guest character as there’s no way he’d fit into the story.
A lost it when Predator made it into the game and I want him back so bad. He looks amazing, plays really well, and just looks totally devastating on screen.
Meh. Trying to force Sektor, Cyrax, and Cyber Sub-Zero into one character just feels lazy. He’s not that interesting and I’d honestly rather have just one of the other three characters.
Another great addition as he fits in well.
That chainsaw and the fan-friendly fatalities from the movie are just awesome. Any slasher fan would love him and I hope he comes back.
Meh again. We didn’t need two Sub-Zero in MK9 and he didn’t add anything to what Sub-Zero already is. I honestly could go without him ever coming back.
